The French formal gardens provide the perfect setting for a romantic walk day or night, winter or summer. Biking trails meander through the Parkway from Fort Erie on Lake Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake situated on Lake Ontario - 33 miles of parkland. The centerpiece in all of this beautiful setting is, of course, the beautiful, majestic Niagara Falls.
The Niagara Region abounds with things to see and do. The Niagara Winery Route, founded in 1987 offers over thirty wineries for visitors to tour and sample. Some of North America's finest wines emanate from Niagara Wineries and you will be welcomed to be part of the experience.
If you're a history buff, then Niagara is one of Canada's jewels in its portrayal of Canadian, British and American history. Queenston Heights Park is the actual battleground where the British halted the Americans in their tracks in 1812. Monuments, statues, graveyards and historic museums all pay homage to those heroes of a bygone era that helped construct the North American landscape.
And, we have sand beaches - beautiful sand beaches along the Lake Erie shoreline which are unparalled. Boating on the Great Lakes is a popular pastime for residents and visitors alike as witnessed by the abundance of full service marinas which dot the shores of both Lake Erie, Lake Ontario and the Niagara River. Speaking of the River, the Niagara River is a haven for sport fishermen - salmon, trout and small mouth Bass abound in the River.
Theme parks like Marineland and Safari Niagara/Zooz in Stevensville offer a whole day of fun for visitors and Safari Niagara/Zooz also offers evening concerts throughout the summer months which are tops on the to do list for many people.
