Festival of Lights Events

Opening Ceremonies with Disney®
November 5
Queen Victoria Park (across from the Falls)
5:45pm (Second Show at 7:00pm)
Join us for a spectacular, outdoor, stage show in Queen Victoria Park, located just steps from the mighty falls, across from Table Rock Centre. Beginning at 5:45pm, the show includes wonderful performances by Greg Frewin, International Grand Champion of Magic; the cast of Oh Canada Eh Dinner Show; Wendy Leard School of Dance; special guests from the Walt Disney World® Resort and fireworks. The entire opening ceremonies performance begins again at approximately 7:00 pm (minus the official lighting ceremony).

Note: Times are approximate and schedule is subject to change.  This is a rain or shine event.  Please dress appropriately for the weather. Feel free to bring lawn chairs.  Parking is available nearby across from Table Rock and at the Skylon Tower.  Food and drink concessions provided by The Niagara Parks Commission will be available.

Illumination of the Falls
November 5 to January 31, 2012
Daily beginning around dusk
As it has since 1925, the Niagara Falls Illumination Board continues its colourful mission to light up the iconic Horseshoe and American Falls each night. Illumination times vary based on the onset of dusk and certain other light and atmospheric conditions.

TD RINK at the Brink
December 1 to February 29, 2012 (Closed Christmas Day)
Across from Table Rock Centre (just steps from the Falls)
Enjoy the wonderful experience of ice skating just a snowball's throw away from the Falls at the TD RINK at the Brink. It offers magnificent views of the American and Horseshoe Falls, including their spectacular nightly illumination, and an up-close view of weekly fireworks performances during the CAA Winter Festival of Lights.

Throughout the CAA Winter Festival of Lights, enjoy spectacular fireworks displays over the Falls thanks to the generous support of the Cares Foundation of Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara. Displays may be delayed or cancelled due to challenging weather conditions such as high wind or heavy rain.

Serious runners, weekend warriors and anyone else who owns a pair of running shoes are all welcome on our race route through the heart of Candy Cane Lane in support of Project SHARE. Events include a competitive 5k race and a 2.5k fun walk and run. Participants may register in advance or the morning of the race. Register online at WFOL.com before November 18 and save. Event occurs rain or shine.

Christmas Concerts & Shows

28th Annual Festival of Lights Cheerleading Competition
December 3 - 4
Gale Centre (4171 Fourth Avenue, Niagara Falls)
The Cheerleading Championship is the Festival's longest-running event. Top teams in the USA divisions will qualify for the US championships held at Disney World in Orlando. Top teams in both USA and Canadian divisions will receive entries to the Spirit Cheer and Varsity Winter Nationals in Hartford, CT.

Art by the Falls 13th Annual Christmas Art & Craft Show
December 3 - 4
Niagara Falls Optimist Hall (corner of Dorchester and Morrison Roads, Niagara Falls)
This annual show features more than 50 juried artisans displaying and selling their wares. All proceeds from this event support the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls.

New Year's Eve Party in the Park in Niagara Falls

7pm to 12:30am
Celebrate during Canada's largest free New Year's Eve event! This free concert attracts 30,000 people each year and includes two spectacular fireworks displays that take place at 9pm and midnight. Live national television coverage on ET Canada will run from 11pm to 12:30am on Global and Canwest affiliate stations.
