Located just 7 miles from Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake along the Niagara Parkway at Queenston, Ontario. These affordable family vacation accommodations are at the very hub of the Niagara Peninsula. The camp boasts a quiet, rural setting in the very heart of the Niagara wine and fruit growing region.
A short walk or bike ride from the park will bring you to the Mighty Niagara River, home of spectacular vistas, awesome jet boat rides and some of the best freshwater sports fishing in North America.
Going north 7 miles on the trail will bring you to historic Niagara-on-the-Lake. This picturesque town is famous for its turn of the century buildings, horse drawn coaches, antiques, fine restaurants and the Shaw Festival Theater. Live theater at its best. There is also a fort dating back to the War of 1812 that can be visited.
If a round or two of golf is on your agenda, there are 16 championship golf courses within a 30-minute drive from the park.
A “must do” on everyone’s list is a ride on the Maid of the Mist. The “Maid” will take you to the very base of the Falls for a spectacular view that you will not soon forget.
An opportunity to go behind the falls, take a helicopter ride over the Falls, see the world-famous Botanical gardens, visit the Butterfly Conservatory and to cross high above the Whirlpool in a cable car are just a few of the things that you can do. The Niagara area is also famous for its Wine Region. There are 12 wineries within 20 minutes of the park, with most offering guided tours and wine tasting. The Welland Ship Canal is also close by for an interesting look into the operation of making huge ships “climb the mountain”.
Marineland and Game Farm, Canada’s Wonderland, African Lion Safari, thoroughbred horse racing, enjoying a fishing trip on Lake Ontario aboard a charter boat and trying your luck at Casino Niagara are also very popular attractions.
